

So the end game is to make our changes to one block and have it good. In the end a plan can go out with little errors all over it. While you are correct, and in theory there is nothing really wrong with "tricking autocad", what is happening and really affecting us negatively is when a project manager requests a change sometimes some of those blocks we use to trick autocad gets missed becasue some of here assume that other understand how annotative blocks can work for us. I want ~one block~, that can have as many annotations as i want but i want those annotations to be able to rotate independently from one another. I don't want to have multiple instances of the same block as that affects our accuracy when it comes to plan checking. Most of the time in what i do i have many different view ports of varying details requiring different scales. Which is why that block has different scale values for different annotations? My view ports would all be different scales. Maybe i'll get a different drawing together to show you what i am meaning to do. That will only work, if the viewports are different scales. I wonder if making the entire block annotative will allow the rotation actions to work independently depending on which annotative scale is current. Now sticking the text in a block makes the text not available for direct manipulation by itself. I then went back to the 1/4" = 1'-0" viewport to clean up what I had done if needed, and discovered that the door callout had neither rotated nor moved in the 1/4" = 1'-0" view. These door callouts are simple text, no blocks or multileaders involved. I also saw that it would work better if I changed the door opening angle to 90 deg instead of 45 deg, so I clicked into the viewport and changed the door angle, and rotated and relocated the door callout. I found it necessary to display part of the floor plan in another viewport at 3/4" = 1'-0". What would make me think the rotation may be doable, is that I have annotative text door size callouts on all of my doors in a floor plan which is in a 1/4" = 1'-0" scaled viewport.

I do that all the time, because the text seems too far away from the object labeled at smaller scales, but they are not in blocks, usually multileaders. In the Block Redefine Block dialog box, click Redefine Block. Under Behavior, click Annotative and click OK. In the Name drop-down list, select the block you want to modify. I know you can move the same annotative text in one viewport scale, and it will not move in the other differently scaled viewports.
